Speeding drivers have been causing many issues at Buckland Wharf including damage to cars parked by the cottages on the main road. Local residents sent two petitions to Bucks Council requesting traffic calming measures be put in place. No action has been taken by the council. At the request of Buckland Parish Council a site visit took place between Buckland Parish Councillors and Highways officers from Bucks Council. Following the site visit in March a traffic survey using truvelo strips took place in April. BPC has now analysed the data and found that the mean values are all in excess of the 30mph speed limit and the 85th percentile values are around 40MPH. This shows that vehicles are 10MPH in excess of the 30 MPH speed limit.

  • Traffic travelling towards Aylesbury, into Aston Clinton: - Only 23 % is travelling within the speed limit at Buckland Wharf
  • Traffic travelling towards Tring, leaving Aston Clinton: - 40% - 42% is travelling within the speed limit at Buckland Wharf

BPC have now sent this data to Bucks Council and are requesting traffic calming measures are put in place on Tring Hill.
